St. Pete/Clearwater, FL (December 17, 2010) - Tickets are still available for a Sunshine City showdown as the Louisville Cardinals will take on the Southern Miss Golden Eagles in the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl St. Petersburg on Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 8 p.m. at Tropicana Field.

The Conference USA (Southern Miss) and BIG EAST Conference (Louisville) matchup is one of 35 bowl games this year and will be broadcast live on ESPN.

"We're thrilled that the St. Pete/Clearwater area is hosting two quality football teams with such loyal fan bases," said Kevin Smith, Director of the St. Pete/Clearwater Sports Commission. "It gives us an opportunity to showcase not only Tropicana Field, but our entire destination, to a national audience in prime time."

Bowl week begins tomorrow at 9 p.m. with the "Official Welcome Party" at downtown St. Pete's Jannus Live.

On Sunday, fans of both teams are invited to attend a Beach Bash at the event's official beach resort, the Tradewinds Island Grand on St. Pete Beach. Beginning at 3 p.m., watch players and coaches from both teams square off in a variety of challenges off the gridiron, including belly flop, hula hoop and karaoke contests.

Both schools will compete in a Battle of the Bands on Monday at 2:30 p.m. behind the Tradewinds. A tailgate cookout on the beach, cheerleader tug o' war and the Beef 'O' Brady's eating contest will also take place that afternoon.

Fans will want to head downtown Monday evening for the Bowl Block Party at Ferg's Sports Bar & Grill. The St. Pete landmark is adjacent to the Trop and will be rockin' with team cheerleaders, bands and football fanatics, beginning at 5 p.m.

On game day, tailgaters should make their way to the Fan Tailgate Extravaganza, featuring a DJ and sound stage, bands, interactive games, food vendors, official bowl merchandise and more.

During the pre-game celebration, fans can put their recipes, attire, and traditions to the test by entering the "Ultimate Tailgate Challenge." A crew of local celebrity judges will select the winners, doling out a free stay at Tradewinds and premium tickets to the game for the winners.

A shuttle service will transport from several downtown St. Pete points to Tropicana Field, beginning at 7 p.m. and running until one hour after the game concludes.
