Digital Outreaches Put Area Sites, Activities in Visitor's Hands

Monday, August 27, 2012

St. Pete/Clearwater (August 27, 2012) - With tens of thousands of guests in town for the RNC, Visit St. Pete/Clearwater's social media team is in high gear today with updates and area info designed to let conventioneers and others with the "day off" maximize their time in town.

Visitors can find information on VSPC's Facebook page as well as our Twitter (@VSPC ) feed, where our team embedded at the Social Media Command Center will be aggregating all of the most timely and useful online content, including Tweets, Facebook posts, photos, etc., for visitors to the area.

Another great way to "get local" is to log on to our mobile website, m.VisitStPeteClearwater.com, which allows visitors with GPS-enabled smart phones to find attractions, restaurants and other points of interest near them (those without GPS-enabled phones can also search by city).

We're encouraging all of our industry partners to use their social media channels to communicate what's happening by using the hashtag #RainyDayRNC, as well as #TampaBay and @VSPC.

VSPC is the destination marketing organization for Pinellas County, Florida.
