Thousands Expected to converge on Clearwater’s Coachman Park for Free Live Jazz
Wednesday, October 15, 2008
What’s better than a ticket to see the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series? How about four free days of live jazz by some of the most celebrated musicians of all time? Namely, Tony Bennett, Patti Austin, and Joe Sample – did we mention it’s free?
Organizers of the Clearwater Jazz Holiday are gearing up for what could be yet another record setting crowd. Over its 29-year history, the Clearwater Jazz Holiday has featured such legendary talents as Dizzy Gillespie, Tito Puente, Herbie Hancock, The Neville Brothers, Branford Marsalis, Kenny G, and the Manhattan Transfer. This year, they’ve upped the ante with music legend Tony Bennett kicking off the four day festival.
The event kicks off this Thursday, October 16 and runs through Sunday, October 19th. With the weekend forecast expected to be near perfect, the warm gulf breezes, brilliant sunsets, and world class beaches, will surely make Clearwater the perfect backdrop for this popular event.
A highlight of the weekend will be a spectacular fireworks show presented by Sandpearl Residences, which takes place on Saturday evening, October 18th.
