TV DOCTOR RETURNS TO THE AREA

CLEARWATER, FL. (February 10, 2006) — Florida had a lot of bad weather news last year. But the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Area Convention & Visitors Bureau has some good weather news. The CVB arranged for Dr. Marie of The Weather Channel to return to the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area from February 19 – 24 to tape “Weather Wellness” segments for spring broadcast on The Weather Channel. Dr. Anna Marie here last spring to tape several segments related to people, pets and summertime health. Spring health matters will be her theme this time. “Weather Wellness” focuses on how weather may affect one’s health, lifestyles and pets. Locations she will be using include a private home with large garden and places along the Pinellas Trail.
She will tape some residents enjoying exercise and outdoor activities. Not only will Dr. Marie be here taping her reports but a special camera crew will be out and about seeking shots of residents all over Pinellas County being active and enjoying the area’s world famous weather.
“Weather Wellness” airs 20 and 40 minutes after the hour on The Weather Channel to millions of viewers throughout the nation. These reports will air nearly 60 times a week all spring. All segments are archived and will be broadcast again next year.
Dr. Marie has worked as a television medical reporter and producer for more than 12
years. Most recently, she is president/executive producer of Facci Bella Productions in Baltimore.
The St. Petersburg/Clearwater area is the leading destination on Florida’s Gulf coast,
drawing more than five million overnight visitors annually. The area is best known for its
record-breaking sunshine and for 35 miles of spectacular beaches including. Fort De Soto Park, which was recently rated #1 beach in the United States. A variety of attractions, world-class museums, sporting activities and nature-related experiences are also readily available.
