ST. PETE/CLEARWATER (May 26, 2016) - Affirming the area's growing reputation as a top international destination, Travel + Leisure listed St. Pete/Clearwater as one of its top Five U.S. Summer Trip Ideas---in the company of New York City, the Pacific Coast Highway, Alaska and Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

To kickoff the busy Memorial Day weekend, T+L highlighted five destinations for the "ultimate American summer vacation." St. Pete/Clearwater filled the "Beach Getaway" category with T+L describing Clearwater Beach as "one of the most desirable summer getaways" and "...with an abundance of arts, food and culture, St. Pete has got it all."


Country Talent Showcases Clearwater Beach In Hot New Music Video

ST. PETE/CLEARWATER (June 8, 2016) - Dynamic country vocalist Cassadee Pope prominently features Clearwater Beach in her latest single and music video, which were both released last week.

Pope penned the title track from her "Summer" EP, mentioning Clearwater Beach in the song's first line, "Rolled in as wild and free as a Clearwater Beach at 17 memory." The West Palm Beach native also shot the entire music video for the track with TK McKamy in Clearwater Beach last month. The new Opal Sands Resort, Clearwater Beach Beach Walk, StarLite Cruises and the Bait House are among local landmarks seen in the video, which have already hit No. 1 and No. 10 on the Country and All Genre iTunes charts.


Visit St. Pete/Clearwater Kicks Off Tourism Week 2016

St. Pete/Clearwater (March 18, 2016) - A feature touting the winners of the annual "Best of St. Pete/Clearwater" poll, an expanded pull-out dining guide and a new and unique distribution method are just a few of the new features of the fourth edition of Visit St. Pete/Clearwater's Gulf to Bay destination magazine.

The 112-page glossy publication is making its biggest splash ever with more than 200,000 copies being distributed this Sunday via insertions in The New York Times in Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

St. Pete Beach Ranks No. 4 On Media Giant's Annual List Of Visitors' Favorites

St. Pete/Clearwater (Feb. 17, 2016) - St. Pete/Clearwater area beaches are on top again.

TripAdvisor announced today that the world-famous white sand Clearwater Beach was No. 1 in its annual list of the 25 Best Beaches in America. That distinction also made it the only beach in the U.S. on its list of the 25 Best Beaches in the World at No. 20.

Not far behind was St. Pete Beach at No. 4 in the U.S. making the St. Pete/Clearwater the only Florida destination with two beaches in the Top 10.


Visit St. Pete/Clearwater Goes National With Disney-Dali, Dolphins

St.Pete/Clearwater (Nov. 18, 2015) - In front of a record crowd of some 350 tourism industry professionals at The Palladium on Tuesday, Visit St. Pete/Clearwater laid out all-new marketing initiatives for 2016, including a first-ever national marketing campaign and the addition of Boston to its annual winter-time marketing blitz.

The first of the three national efforts features 13 weeks of National Public Radio advertising totaling more than 88 million impressions that will air during some of NPR's most popular broadcasts, including "All Things Considered" and "Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me."


Ramsberger Named Visit St. Pete/Clearwater Deputy Director

St.Pete/Clearwater (Jan. 28, 2016) - Tim Ramsberger has been named Deputy Director of Visit St. Pete/Clearwater, the official Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) of Pinellas County, Florida. Ramsberger will serve as the organization's second-in-command under VSPC Executive Director, David Downing starting Feb. 1.

Ramsberger, a native of the St. Pete/Clearwater area, has 29 years of legal and executive experience in hospitality/tourism development and entertainment and event promotion, most recently serving as president of the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg for a decade before becoming VP of Andretti Sports Marketing in 2014.


Uber, Visit St. Pete/Clearwater Announce First-Of-Its-Kind Promotion

CHICAGO (Feb. 1, 2016) - Officials from ridesharing pioneer Uber and Visit St. Pete/Clearwater today announced a first-of-its-kind marketing initiative that will promote the St. Pete/Clearwater area while providing free rides to Uber users in Chicago.

Every Wednesday morning this month starting at 6 a.m., Chicago Uber users will be greeted with a "Warm Up Wednesday" message in the app and a promotional code to unlock a special vehicle view to request a free ride. As part of the campaign's warm-weather focus, vehicles will appear in the app emblazoned with sunshine icons.

In addition to the offer for a free ride, every Uber rider who unlocks the view is automatically entered to win one of four 4-night getaways for two, including airfare, to St. Pete/Clearwater.


TIME, Travel + Leisure Highlight Clearwater Beach, Sandpearl Resort

St. Pete/Clearwater (July 7, 2015) - Clearwater Beach got a bit more famous this week.

On Monday,TIME Magazine named Clearwater Beach the second-best beach in the country in the Travel section of its annual "The Answers Issue," citing its "white sand and warm, gentle waves." A day later, Travel + Leisure named Sandpearl Resort its No. 2 Family Resort in America and the 20th-best overall resort.
