Below you'll find just a few highlights from this week's Tourist Development Council meeting. As usual, we have posted the TDC agenda online on our industry website along with all of the individual monthly departmental reports. You can watch the meeting here.

Council Proposes New Capital Funding Formula, Extends Application Deadline
The TDC proposed a new formula for funding capital projects and extended the deadline for those looking to apply for funding starting in FY2016. The new funding structure is pending approval by the Board of County Commissioners and the new deadline is Feb. 27, 2015. Annual Marketing Meeting Reveals VSPC's 2015 Plans
Visit St. Pete/Clearwater unveiled its 2015 marketing plans and several industry-first initiatives earlier this week, including its debut consumer campaign in the United Kingdom in partnership with Virgin Holidays---one of the biggest names in tourism. Also unveiled were a 2014 year in review video, as well as a highlight reel featuring VSPC department directors outlining their initiatives for 2015. TDC Welcomes New Member
Indian Rocks Beach Mayor R.B. Johnson joined the TDC as the TDC representative appointed by the Pinellas County Mayor's Council. Johnson has been the Mayor of Indian Rocks Beach since 2008 and has lived in the community since 1989. Welcome, Mayor!

Again, these are just a few highlights from the meeting. Our final TDC meeting of 2014 will be at 9 a.m. Dec. 17.
