D.T. Minich has been appointed as the new executive director of the St.
Petersburg/Clearwater Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. 

“I am pleased that after an extensive national search, drawing several qualified candidates, we were able to find an extremely talented executive
with solid Florida destination marketing experience as a Bureau CEO,” said Pinellas County Administrator Steve Spratt. “D.T. Minich is tailor-made to lead our CVB having successfully branded the Fort Myers/Sanibel beaches area throughout the world.”

Minich has worked at nearly every level and department of a visitor bureau beginning as an intern. For the past seven years he has led the Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel Visitor and Convention Bureau.

“I am pleased to be joining such a great team and am looking forward to meeting and working with all of our Pinellas County tourism partners,” said Minich. “This is a fantastic destination with so many new and positive changes occurring that the future is extremely positive for the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area.”

As executive director of the CVB, Minich will operate an organization with an annual budget of more than $27 million. The St. Petersburg/Clearwater area receives over 13 million visitors annually and contributes more than $6 billion to the local economy.

Minich will replace Carole Ketterhagen who is retiring at the end of the year after leading the bureau for 15 years.

The St. Petersburg/Clearwater Area Convention & Visitors Bureau is the countywide tourism
management and marketing organization responsible for developing and promoting the St.
Petersburg/Clearwater area as a leisure, business, convention, conference, sports and film production
destination. The St. Petersburg/Clearwater area is the leading destination on Florida’s Gulf coast, drawing more than five million overnight visitors annually.
