$1 million Summertime Campaign Features Sweepstakes, Daily Prizes, Best-of Calendar

St. Pete/Clearwater, FL (May 30, 2012) — Visit St. Pete/Clearwater (VSPC) announces the launch of 100 Days of Summer, a multi-tiered celebration of summer complete with daily sweepstakes prizes and an action-packed calendar highlighting 100 of the coolest things to see and do this summer in St. Pete Clearwater.

From trying Downward Dog at the Dali (Day 49), to Walking With Ghosts (Day 22) and Snorkeling a Sunken Fort (Day 29), to Visiting Greek Islands (Day 30), Playing Pirate for a Day (Day 13) and Drinking G.O.O.D. Beer (Day 83), the promotion offers a daily bucket list of activities and challenges the whole family will enjoy, pets included (see Day 15, Dog Beach Paw Playground at Fort De Soto Park).

This is what summer is all about, said VSPC Deputy Director, David Downing. We combed the entire area---from Tarpon Springs to Fort De Soto---for signature experiences and activities that visitors and locals will enjoy, and paired them with a different prize every day.

The selection of daily, weekly and two grand prizes---from beach totes and Dolphin Tale DVDs, to getaways at luxury Gulf resorts to new Vespas----will continue all the way through Labor Day Weekend. And unlike many other sweepstakes, site visitors can enter every day all summer long---up to 100 times altogether---to increase their chances of winning.

Aimed at the summertime drive markets of the greater Orlando and Tampa Bay areas, VSPC's 100 Days of Summer is supported by a multi-tiered $1 million marketing and advertising campaign that includes both traditional elements---such as TV, Radio and billboard advertising---as well as non-traditional initiatives, like wrapped delivery trucks, rental cars hang tags, and social media outreaches.

This initiative also dovetails with Pinellas County's Centennial Celebration taking place this year, which includes an online Memories Gallery where visitors and locals alike are encouraged to upload photos of memorable sights and experiences throughout the area.

The 100 Days of Summer campaign is designed to build upon the momentum established over the last several months, which have seen record tourism numbers, and continue it through the Republican National Convention, which will take place August 27-30 at locations throughout the Tampa Bay area.

Tourism partners can download the official 100 Days of Summer logo for use on their websites here. To enter the sweepstakes, log on to, the official website for St. Petersburg/Clearwater vacation information.
