St. Pete/Clearwater, FL (February 18, 2014) - Local favorites voted as the "Best of St. Pete/Clearwater" highlight the second edition of Visit St. Pete/Clearwater's Gulf to Bay, which began a worldwide distribution of 525,000 copies this week.
The publication, which will be distributed next week via insertions in The New York Times in Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. is brimming with new content and photography, capturing the beauty of the destination in 104 glossy pages with an oversize trim.
In addition to select results from this year's "Best of" competition, the magazine features articles on the area's growing craft beer scene and foodie indulgences---as well as extensive coverage of local beaches and various communities, from downtown St. Petersburg to Madeira Beach, Safety Harbor, Tarpon Springs and more.
A big "Best of" winner this year is small, but mighty Dunedin, which claimed two categories typically reserved for repeat annual favorites. Dunedin Golf Club took top honors in "Best Links" and Dunedin Fine Art Center was named "Best Museum."
In all, nine "Best of" categories are featured in the magazine with the complete results available online and in this video montage.
"We're pleased by the tremendous reception that Gulf to Bay has received, both from our millions of visitors and from our local tourism community," said VSPC Deputy Director, David Downing. "Since most visitors go online for travel planning and service information, we've freed up the majority of the publication for inspirational stories, gorgeous photos and results of our annual "Best of" competition, which adds an element of suspense to its release every year."
Gulf to Bay, which debuted last year as the replacement for the area's traditional visitors guide, is produced in partnership with the Tampa Bay Times.
