St. Pete/Clearwater, FL (April 3, 2014) - Visit St. Pete/Clearwater is proud to announce that St. Pete/Clearwater Area Sports Commissioner Kevin Smith was named Board Chair of the National Association of Sports Commissions.
The appointment was announced Wednesday at the NASC board meeting in Oklahoma City.
Smith, who joined the VSPC Sports Commission in 1999, has been department director since 2006. He has been a member of the National Association of Sports Commissions since 2000, serving as secretary, treasurer and as the board's Vice Chair last year before his election to the board's top post.
Among Smith's many contributions to the NASC is founding the Sports Legacy Program, which provides donated sports equipment and financial support in NASC host communities around the country.
