St. Pete/Clearwater, FL (November 12, 2010) - Before making her debut on the silver screen next year, Clearwater Marine Aquarium's Winter the Dolphin will be making a splash at the White House this holiday season.

Earlier this week, Visit St. Pete/Clearwater supplied a stained glass Winter-themed ornament (pictured) for display on this year's official White House Holiday Tree. The beautiful Douglas-fir tree from Lehighton, Pa. will be presented in the Blue Room.

The ornament commemorates the upcoming release of A Dolphin Tale, the 3D major-motion picture based-on and starring the area's most famous dolphin. Also featuring a bevy of Hollywood A-Listers---including Morgan Freeman, Harry Connick Jr. and Ashley Judd---the production is currently filming at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and various locations throughout the St. Pete/Clearwater area.

The piece---which prominently features Winter's trademark prosthetic tail---was created by St. Petersburg artist Lee West, who is based out of an ArtsLofts studio above the Florida Craftsmen Gallery. Works by the award-winning artist can be seen at a number of area galleries, including the Florida Craftsmen.

Through exhibitions, workshops and educational programs, the Florida Craftsmen is the only statewide non-profit organization representing established and emerging fine craft artists.

Visit St. Pete/Clearwater is the destination marketing organization for Pinellas County, Florida.
