St. Pete/Clearwater (Sept. 22, 2017) - Affirming St. Pete/Clearwater's growing reputation as an under-the-radar foodie paradise, Garden & Gun named St. Pete as one of The South's Best Food Towns on the culinary rise---in the company of Charleston, Nashville and New Orleans, among others.
Featured as an emerging food town to visit, St. Pete's food tour spotlights local hotspots, describing New York-off-shoot Empire Oyster as an example of how "St. Pete has even attracted interest from afar."
It also describes St. Pete/Clearwater's craft brewery scene, which is the largest in the state, as a "craze that jumped the bay from Tampa with a vengeance."
"Garden & Gun is a respected and sophisticated voice in the culinary and travel space, so for it to recognize St. Pete as an emerging food town speaks volumes about the destination," Visit St. Pete/Clearwater President and CEO David Downing said. "Accolades like this continue to confirm how diverse the destination is beyond our famous beaches with a world-class art scene and tremendous local cuisine."
Other local spots mentioned include Mandarin Hide, Intermezzo Coffee & Cocktails, the Urban Canning Company, Locale Market, the Reading Room and Ichicoro Ane.
Garden & Gun mapped out the ultimate weekends for eating and drinking through The South in the October/November issue, which is on sale now.
